Snapper and Squid are my favourite. You will find them amongst reef or grass beds all year round. Snappers are a great FIGHT ! I find snapper and squid to be the most popular catches. This web site will allow all snapper and squid lovers to tell and share great moments and special fishing spots. This site will allow for snapper and squid lovers to know where to go and to share your thoughts.

Keep us up to date on all the activity !!!

LETS KEEP A DIARY  OF THE SPORT

Favourite locations include:
-Black Rock,
in Port Phillip Bay (Victoria) is my favourite for snapper

-Sorrento,
in Port Phillip Bay (Victoria) is my favourite for small squid.

-Queenscliff,
in Port Phillip Bay (Victoria) and Flinders in Western Port Bay (Victoria) are my favourite for big squid (during summer time).

PREPARING THE LINES?

As a general principle I use the following line structure when I go fishing:

I use the same line as for snapper that is 8 kg with 300m length.

Running line as follows is recommended:

1) Swivel
(1 meter away from lure/hook. If you don’t put a swivel then your line will become all tangled with time. No need for floats.),

2) Sinker
(beaded between swivel and lure/hook is optional depending on current. This allows for the lure/hook to sink down)

3) Lure/Hook

A GREAT TIP:

To increase the chances of catching fish, its a good time to fish during the tide changes every 6 hours. Something to consider.
